Luis Suarez's Mate Reveals Which Club the Striker Could Join Once He Leaves Barcelona
Seattle Sounders attacking midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro believes Luis Suarez could join him in the MLS once his time at Barcelona comes to an end.
Suarez joined Barcelona in 2014 after an impressive spell at Liverpool, and scored 40 La Liga goals in 35 appearances last season. There has been much speculation as to where Suarez could end up should he decide to leave Barcelona, despite the Uruguayan stating in the past he would like to retire at the Nou Camp. One place which could offer the 29-year-old a big final payday is the USA. Several high-profile players such as David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have had stints in the MLS at the end of their respective careers, and Loidero believes Suarez is likely to end up at an unexpected club.
"He has been a fan of the Sounders since I started playing there, I think that it would be fantastic to play by his side," Loidero said, as quoted by Sport.
"It's a question of when the moment's right, we've joked about it and he says he already has his team to come to the MLS, it's a question of one phone call.”Suarez previously told ESPN of his hope to retire at Barcelona, although he admitted that it would require him to stay at the top of his game until his twilight years.
"I suffered a lot to make it here [Barca] and I want to enjoy it and continue fighting to complete my objectives, which is to win titles," Suarez said in October.
"I would love to retire here, but that obliges you to stay at the top level for your whole career.
"But I'm not thinking about that now. There are only a few privileged enough to retire here."
