Luis Suarez's Mate Reveals Which Club the Striker Could Join Once He Leaves Barcelona

Image
Seattle Sounders attacking midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro believes Luis Suarez could join him in the MLS once his time at Barcelona comes to an end. Suarez joined Barcelona in 2014 after an impressive spell at Liverpool, and scored 40 La Liga goals in 35 appearances last season. There has been much speculation as to where Suarez could end up should he decide to leave Barcelona, despite the Uruguayan stating in the past he would like to retire at the Nou Camp. One place which could offer the 29-year-old a big final payday is the USA. Several high-profile players such as David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have had stints in the MLS at the end of their respective careers, and Loidero believes Suarez is likely to end up at an unexpected club. "He has been a fan of the Sounders since I started playing there, I think that it would be fantastic to play by his side," Loidero said, as quoted by Sport. "It's a question of when the moment's right, we've jok...

Lionel Messi to be banned just SIX HOURS before crucial World Cup qualifier

Image
Lionel Messi has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent days after allegedly swearing and insulting a match official’s mother during Argentina’s win over Chile last week. The Barcelona maestro was caught on camera shouting ‘the c*** of your mother’ as he voiced his anger at a decision that went against him, all before he then refused to shake the official’s hand later on. And Messi has now been retrospectively punished by FIFA – with the news set to be announced just six hours before he was expected to lead out Argentina against Bolivia in another crucial World Cup qualifier. The clash was already earmarked as a difficult encounter in the way of Argentina’s World Cup dreams, with the altitude in La Paz always a defining factor for the opposition. Argentina were famously thrashed 6-1 there under Diego Maradona’s stewardship back in 2009 when Messi and Angel di Maria required oxygen masks. And now it appears they’ll also be without their best player and talisman who has...

Neymar Insists Philippe Coutinho Is the Player He Can 'See' Playing at Barcelona in the Future

Image
Barcelona forward Neymar is persisting in his efforts to persuade Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho to join the Catalan club. Coutinho signed a five-year deal with Liverpool in January, but it appears that Neymar is reluctant to give up easily. Quoted by Mundo Deportivo after speaking on international duty, he said: “I would sign him (Coutinho). He’s the player I see playing in Barcelona.” Just days before that statement, he said - via the Liverpool Echo: "A Premier League player that I would like to have in Barcelona is Coutinho. I believe Philippe Coutinho is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona.” Coutinho has never hinted at any desire to leave Liverpool, however, despite the praise from his international teammate. "We feel at home in this city, we feel a part of this city. It is a very important day for me, my wife and my daughter. I am happy and everyone is happy at home!” he said, having signed his new contract. “I signed a new contract and there was a mes...

Three Premier League Clubs Handed Massive Boost By AS Roma's Kostas Manolas Announcement

Image
AS Roma are open to the sale of centre-back Kostas Manolas in the summer, but only if he moves abroad, according to Calcio Mercato. The Greek defender has been impressive since making the switch from Olympiacos to Roma, earning a handful of admirers around Europe. Their willingness to sell the defender will be a massive boost for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United who have all been linked with the 25-year-old. Juventus and Inter Milan are also said to be interested in Manolas, with the former making contact last summer over a potential move. Considering how good Manolas has been though, it is no surprise that Roma are simply unwilling to sell to another Serie A side. This leaves the Premier League trio in a good position if I Lupi do decide to sell. Liverpool are perhaps the most likely to make a move for the Greek as they need a centre-back more than the other two English clubs. Joel Matip has fitted in well and formed a good partnership with Dejan Lovren, however, the pair ...
